Momentary Lapses of Beauty (2)
It cannot and will not be contained…
In Search of Spontaneous Acts of Beauty
I am infatuated with motion. I often find myself getting lost, intently watching as one action in life casually spills over into another… and then another… and then another… I am fascinated by how the surrounding world reacts to stimuli. Even the tiniest of disturbances set off a rippling effect of back and forth response that is mesmerizing to watch unfold.
I believe that beauty stems from life in motion.
As time passes, one moment dissolves into another. The bounds that separate cause and effect become blurred. Events bleed together in a fluid-like motion until a sense of balance can be restored. There, scattered along this yo-yo-like path to reason, yet hiding in plain view, exists for but a few brief moments the most exquisitely sublime displays of queer beauty: these are the Asphalt Rainbows of life. They are unintentional color explosions imprinted upon the urban landscape: a symbol of resistance to the march to order.
