The Rainbows are Flying High…
It’s Pride week here again in New York City, and it looks set to be another exciting year on Christopher Street. With the Stonewall Inn’s Landmark status hearing on Tuesday morning, and the looming of yet another weighty Supreme Court decision (Obergefell v. Hodges) involving the rights of same-sex couples to marry, expect record numbers to descend upon the streets of the West Village. I’ll be out and about all week armed with fragrance goodies to help mark the occasion, and of course, enjoying a few new olfactive memories of my own.
This is our third Pride since the launch of Christopher Street (can you believe it?), so Charenton Macerations’ celebrations officially began early this morning with a little nostalgic stroll down its infamous sidewalks… a now traditional last moment of reflection upon the year that was and a chance to prepare for the year to come… Things continue all across NYC this week, going strong until the last sequin is brushed from the concrete of Sunday’s March to the Piers (… okay, maybe more like Monday morning…).
