Ida Meister of Fragrantica offers up a well versed quick run-through of some of the ingredient stories of Christopher Street. Happy to invite her into my macrocosm of West Village life. In discussing the fragrance’s notes, Ida describes Christopher Street as follows:
“We’re drawn in to the jus by its scintillating citrus like moth to flame. It’s irresistible: bergamot, lime, bitter orange, illuminated by the brilliant burst of alcohol, diffusive and light-hearted. It goes straight to your head. For whatever reason, this lilting fizzy lime parties on throughout the development of the scent, as if the good times will never end, and we will never stop dancing.”
Summing it all up, she continues:
“So, my friends: we have a vibrant neighborhood of Greenwich Village in NYC, an olfactory portrait and homage to its progression. From merchants and commerce to a gathering place for the dispossessed, now one of the tony places in which to live—Christopher Street continues to pulsate with fervor and animation.”
Thank you so much for this amazing run through of the many levels of scent and story that comprise Christopher Street. For those of you who know Ida, you know there is no better person to sit and chat stories with. So enjoyed reliving some of my favorite moments from the Village together.
